Our Practice

Step Stone Psychology is a North York and downtown Toronto-based psychological service that provides individual and group-based treatment, counselling/psychotherapy, and assessment services to children, adolescents, adults, couples, parents, and families.

Step Stone has three, conveniently located, 2SLGBTQ+ positive, wheelchair accessible offices with our main office at 600 Sherbourne Street, Suite 312 (Bloor and Sherbourne), and our satellite office at 1033 Bay Street, Suite 221 (Bay and Wellesley), as well as Step Stone Center located at 137 Finch Ave West in North York. Services are available in English, French, Farsi, and Russian.

We are an internship and practicum student training site for universities like the University of Toronto, York University, and The University of Guelph. We also provide specialized training and supervision to candidates for registration as psychologists, psychological associates and psychotherapists.

Working from an approach that honours your own unique context, perspectives, and abilities, we collaborate with you towards the identification, exploration, and achievement of goals for your well-being and future. In cases where clinical issues are present, we utilize our experience and expertise to assess, identify, and provide clear feedback and formulations of issues to inform your understanding of yourself and your needs, and to develop comprehensive counselling or clinical treatment plans.

We are committed to providing comprehensive services that reach beyond the therapy or assessment room, providing as little or as much assistance and advocacy as your unique needs and circumstances require. In other words, you are not alone. We will walk alongside you, assisting you to be an agentic partner in navigating the challenges, relationships, and systems towards the achievement of your goals.

We can work in collaboration with your existing service providers, circle of care, and community supports (e.g., medical/psychiatry, school/educational settings, employers, OHIP, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, private insurance providers, Children's Aid Services, legal representatives, justice/police services, etc.) towards the facilitation of you and your family's comprehensive care and goals.
